NBA Presidency: Badejo-Okusanya SAN Narrowly Leads Akinboro SAN and Yemi Akangbe SAN in Lawyers’ Facebook Poll

Oyinkasola Badejo-Okusanya, SAN, has taken a narrow lead over Olumuyiwa Akinboro, SAN, in an informal Facebook poll conducted among Nigerian lawyers, offering an early indication of sentiments ahead of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) presidential election scheduled for July.

The poll was conducted on a lawyers’ forum, Nigerian Lawyers on Facebook Platform, where participants were asked to indicate the candidate they would vote for in the forthcoming NBA presidential election.

At the close of the poll, Badejo-Okusanya, SAN, emerged with 47 per cent of the votes, while Akinboro, SAN, followed closely with 45 per cent. Yemi Akangbe, SAN, secured 7 per cent of the votes cast.

The poll ran for 48 hours and recorded a total of 54 respondents, reflecting a tightly contested race between the leading contenders. Although unofficial and limited in scope, the outcome has generated discussions within the legal community regarding the competitiveness of the upcoming NBA election and the level of support enjoyed by the aspirants.

Observers note that while social media polls are not determinative of election outcomes, they often provide insight into emerging trends and grassroots perceptions among lawyers as the campaign season gradually gathers momentum.
