Court Jails Mother, Sister of Late Terrorist Leader Battujo for 40 Years Each

The Federal High Court in Abuja has sentenced the mother and sister of late terrorist leader Battujo to 40 years’ imprisonment each after finding them guilty of terrorism-related offences.

The judgment was delivered on Friday following their prosecution by the Department of State Services (DSS) over their alleged roles in supporting terrorist activities linked to the late insurgent leader.

The two women were arrested during investigations into the operations of the deceased terrorist kingpin and were subsequently charged for their involvement in activities connected to the terrorist network.

After considering the evidence presented during the trial, the court convicted both defendants and handed each a 40-year prison sentence.

Authorities are yet to disclose full details of the specific charges, the court’s reasoning, or the extent of the women’s involvement in the terrorist operations.
